Isn’t it still June?
Well, apparently not. I was walking down 42nd Street today and passed the Ripley’s Believe or Not “Odditorium.” Their JumboTron billboard warned me to make my New Year’s Eve reservations soon . . . space is limited and going fast.
New Year’s reservations? In June?
Something dawned on me. There’s a reason Ripley’s is a 100-year-old financial juggernaut with books, TV shows, films and more than 100 “Odditoriums” around the world.
And every creative person should take note—writers, actors, directors, whatever.
Three things are certain:
-- Ripley’s has a goal—a full house on New Year’s Eve.
-- Ripley’s has a deadline—New Year’s Eve.
-- Ripley’s is doing what it can now to succeed then—no matter how crazy it looks.
Do you have a goal for your creative activity?
Have you set a deadline?
Are you doing what you can now to succeed then?

I’m just sayin’ . . . it’s worked out pretty will for Ripley’s.
