Whaaat?
Can it actually be this many months since I posted anything?
Yes, it can, but the Off Broadway Alliance drove me to get back on it.
Last night, OBA hosted a reception for participants in its 2014 and 2015 Mentor Program. What I was reminded of—once again—is the value of events like that no matter what you are in the theater community or where you are in your career.
I met people at exactly my age and stage. I met people younger who have done more. I met people who produce. I met people who write. I met people I could encourage. I met people who encouraged me.
I made one very, very valuable connection.
And I had free wine and finger sandwiches.
What's not to like?
I’m going to another event with a different organization tonight.
So, introverts of the world unite!
Get out there!
People are nice (and if they’re not, you don’t have to talk to them). Almost everyone you meet is somewhere along the same exact journey you are. Almost everyone you meet would love to hear what you're doing, tell what they're doing and help if they can.
